Encouraging students to thrive

We believe that great learning is made possible when young people, their families and staff feel safe and happy. This precondition for learning and school community life is exemplified in our values of People, Growth and Fun, forming the basis of all that we do.

We take our students on a journey of adventure and possibilities – learning is fun and our young people are the authors of their own story.

Our College has a strong tradition of academic excellence expressed through outstanding HSC and ATAR, results and is supported through comprehensive pastoral care, student wellbeing, sporting and extracurricular programs.

Part of the worldwide system of Adventist Schools, Macquarie College is non-selective and independent and services the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley regions.

Testimonials

I value the faith-based education that Macquarie college provides as well as all the extra-curricular activities my children have loved being involved in from camps, concerts and sporting competitions to resilience and student leadership programs.

Sally Crews

From the first school tour to our children’s first day, we have felt supported and welcomed by all members of the MC community from Administration staff, teachers, children and existing MC families.

Katrina Crump

I feel very blessed that my 3 boys have the opportunity to be part of a school that has a wonderful sense of community involvement, welcoming staff and teachers. Our school has such an amazing school spirit and atmosphere.

Belinda Butcher

I made the right decision sending our twin girls to Macquarie College. The teachers have outstanding commitment and show a real and genuine interest in the children. The Kindy program has excellent numeracy and literacy programs while upholding a play-based learning environment.

Tessa

We are immensely grateful for the incredible experience our daughter has had at Macquarie College so far. We feel fortunate to have been introduced to such a remarkable school, and we would not hesitate to recommend Macquarie College to other families seeking an exceptional education for their children.

MC’s new MCX pedagogical model is bold, different and I’m excited for how it plans to prepare our true future thinkers, innovators and leaders. As program convenor of one of the Civil Engineering programs at The University of Newcastle, I am excited for what future intake students from MC will be like. Regardless of the discipline, design thinking and problem-solving skills are highly sought after by many reputable Australian and International Universities.
